 DISCOURSES

(DELIVERED IN SATSANG)

PART III

Param Guru Huzur Sahabji Maharaj

DISCOURSE 43

The forces looking after the world and all the objects of the world are bent on devouring our spirit. The spirit is an intelligent force and the things of the world are all non-intelligent and coarse. The spirits take on physical forms and develop and maintain them by using the things and materials of the world. If the spirits stop spending their intelligent energy in bringing into existence physical bodies, all the material substances of the world would remain in a crude, chaotic state and the charm and attraction which the gross materials of the world appear to possess would disappear altogether. Kal and Maya, the forces looking after the maintenance of the world, therefore, wish to keep the spirits under their control in order that the creation may be maintained. The spirits take on physical bodies and nourish them. These bodies are then destroyed by Kal and are utilized as food for the development of other bodies. This process goes on day and night. The Name 'Radhasoami' possesses the virtue that its methodical repetition renders 'Kal' and 'Maya' and all their subordinate forces ineffective and the spirit breaks through their chains, travels along the celestial route and enters its real Original Home where 'Kal' and 'Maya' cannot enter.

DISCOURSE 44

Merciful Radhasoami has, through Grace, simplified every matter for Satsangis to such an extent, that one feels wonder-struck. For instance, it is directed that Satsangis should live together as a community in order to save themselves from the sufferings of the world. Organized community life affords protection against all kinds of unnecessary troubles. This is such a simple way of treatment that neither Swarajya nor autocratic government can stand comparison with it. Similarly, for achieving salvation, it is directed that Satsangis should cultivate Love for the Satguru, so that just as iron easily floats on water when attached to a piece of timber, a devotee under the protection of his Satguru can also swim and cross the ocean of the world. It is likewise directed that Satsangis, one and all, should cultivate the habit of doing hard work and resolve to live within their own hard-earned honest income. A person working hard will never be in want of anything specially so, when the whole community joins together and manages its own affairs. These are all so very easy prescriptions that one has neither to take the trouble of grinding the medicine nor to undergo the torment involved in taking a bitter dose and the ailments disappear merely by inhaling the medicine.
